Hotel Information

The guest rooms at Ballykealey manor have been fully refurbished to afford our guests the highest standards of modern comfort with all the charm and elegance of the original house. Rich, restful colour schemes have been chosen to compliment the period charm of the hotel and serve to enhance the individual design of each room.

Approached by a winding avenue through beautiful wooded parklands the historic Ballykealey Country House Hotel rises majestically to meet its visitors. This magnificent manor house, quietly secluded in its own private gardens and parklands, is a haven of peace and tranquillity in the heart of Co. Carlow.

Tudor chimney stacks, battlement pinnacles and granite gothic arches dating back to the 1820's convey the charm and architectural expertise of its era and exquisite examples of original ornate plasterwork, marble fireplaces and solid oak doors complete with brass hinges and handles leave a lasting impression of the timeless elegance of the Tudor period.

As in keeping with the rest of the House, the bedrooms are all individually designed retaining as they do all the charm and character of the period wherever possible and all have en-suite facilities.

Room Information

The guest rooms at Ballykealey Manor Hotel have all the charm and elegance of the original house. Restful colour schemes have been chosen to compliment the period charm of the hotel and serve to enhance the individual design of each room.

For that extra degree of opulence, in addition to antique furniture and classic proportions, our deluxe rooms offer the added luxury of four-poster beds and spa baths in sunken level en-suite bathrooms.

Food and Beverage

The Oak Room is located in what was originally the drawing room and library of the house. It is a beautiful setting in which to serve our five-course Table d'Hote menu. Our carefully-selected wine list offers an excellent choice featuring a number of vintages from smaller suppliers and growers as well as several excellent choices by the glass.

With original features including 10ft solid oak dividing doors, ornate cornices and mouldings and integrated hand-carved oak bookcases, this is an exquisite dining room.

John Rupert's Bar, the hotel lounge, is a very tastefully decorated area with a distinctly relaxed atmosphere. The menu reflects a more casual dining experience with food available from morning to evening. Our drinks list offers a wide range of draught and bottled beers, speciality spirits and liqueurs and several excellent wines by the glass.
